I love this gun but am leary given what I'm reading about Umarex not standing behind their product. Also, I'm reading that the arrow heads are blowing off of their shafts due to the extreme power. I love the double arrows, the look, the cocking mechanism. I want it but I also don't want to throw money at a paperweight when customer service tells me to pound sand on a known issue. Is there anything you can tell me that would get me over the fence?

Someone hunted a Whitetail doe with the Umax hammer and it left a cantaloupe size hole on the entrance for some reason and the exit hole was a lot smaller

Where can I get one of those without having to pay a shipping fee to have it fixed. Especially considering that they all malfunction within the first couple of months. And good luck getting one that doesn't leak. Oh that's right it's impossible to get one from someone who respects a warranty without charging you for their problem. What range does the umarex hammer have?

Learn not to aim for the spine. Or atleast finish it quick if you get a spine shot. No way you can call yourself a real respectfull hunter if you dont make sure the animal you shoot suffers the least. Respect for the wildlife.

I just tried mine out to make sure everything worked properly and , man oh man , that is LOUD ! I forgot my ear protection and I was in shock at how loud it really is.

The weapon does not work, or the shot is very misplaced. A good hunter, who deigns to be such, must cause the least suffering to the animal. There are many ways to test a weapon, but it is never done on a living thing. Compressed air is useless.

I have had experiences that indicated slower is better for knock down. Seems that high velocity seems to stimulate their nervous system to trigger a great burst of dying energy that enables to exceed their normal boundaries!
